The World #1 Wang Hao is doing amazingly excellent. I have watched his game against many players especially Chen Weixing who is a defensive player. I’m going to bet on Wang Hao for the Gold unless someone like Timo Boll, Samsonov, Oh Sang Eun or Persson makes a surprise move to the top. May be Wang Liqin, Wang Hao and Ma Lin are going to fight for all the three medals. The finaly may be between Wang Hao and Wang Liqin.
The best match I enjoyed is the match between Samsonov and Persson in the fourth round. I skim through the matches where the Chinese players play sinceI know I don’t have any surprise in those matches.

Persson–he’s like 40 right?–is making an incredible run but it’s about to come to an end when he has to face the Chinese tt machine.
I think Persson may pull something out of his hat. Chen Weixing has told me once both Walder and Persson are “intelligent players” and Chinese even fear them.
I should have taken your bet, both Wang hao and Persson. LOL
(correction: Persson is 42! Great for him and sad for Europe that he made it so far into the round.)
Experience matters. Ma Lin takes the gold. He was World #1 once. Did Wang Hao have a compassion for him? Ma Lin lost his father this year and this Olympics may be his last Olympics.
