Have you bought a new speed glue built-in rubber recently? And you have put that rubber on the forehand side your favorite blade. Now have a careful analysis of your blade and check its speed and control. You may notice that your backhand side has become faster too and over-all the whole blade has became so fast. You might have expected only the forehand to become faster, but the backhand has also become faster. If you are a defensive player and use very slow defensive rubber on the backhand, you will notice that the backhand becomes faster than previous.

The above phenomenon is unavoidable. This is what happens. The ball hits the backhand side and the waves pass through the wood towards the sponge of the forehand rubber. These waves accelerated further by the sponge of the forehand rubber and the blade generates more vibration on it’s face. In effect, your backhand rubber receives part of the forehand rubber’s built-in-speed glue effect. This kind of phenomenon happens if the speed glue has been used also, but not to the extend as tensor rubbers.

I have never heard that explanation before but have experienced a very-hard-to-detect increase in speed of the bh side like you said when using a fast forehand glued rubber or tensor.
