The Darker blades are made in Japan. I have a special affection for the Darker blades. I tested their one ply Hinoki blades before. You can read its review here. Few months back I tried their Legato blade. The Darker Legato is a good allround blade. It has very excellent control. It’s not a blade for playing away from their table. The speed is very much controlled, and it’s thicker outer layer may be reason why it has more dwell.
My attention turned to Darker Legato Point Carbon. This is a OFF- blade. Don’t be surprised by the word carbon. I did not see any carbon in it. The carbon is being used in Darker Legato, but I don’t know really where it is being used. It may be in it’s handle.
The Darker Legato Point Carbon is faster than Darker Legato. The Darker Legato helps you to play little further from the table. I tried XIOM Vega Asian on it. The combination has excellent speed. On the other side, I had TSP Curl P-H. I could see the speed contrast from this different rubbers on both sides. The backhand is very slower while the forehand is exceptionally faster. The other rubber I liked very much on Darker Legato Point Carbon is Butterfly Tenergy 25.
When it comes to suggesting blades for aspiring and developing players, I suggest few blades like TSP Balsa Plus 3.5. I can count on the Darker Legato and Darker Legao Point Carbon blades as the best blades for such players.
